The results of the 2025–26 academic year admission tests for government and private medical and dental colleges across the country may be published today (Sunday), officials said.
Professor Dr Rubina Yasmin, Additional Director General (Medical Education) of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), told The Daily Campus that the results are expected to be released around noon, although the final time has not yet been confirmed.
“The final time for publishing the medical and dental admission test results has not been fixed yet. However, we hope to publish them by noon. Once released, the results will be announced on the official websites, and successful candidates will be able to check their results,” she said on Sunday morning.
According to the admission circular, all processes—including application processing, scrutiny, evaluation of answer scripts, result finalisation, and re-evaluation—have been completed through a fully digital system. Answer scripts were evaluated using OMR and ICR machines.
Seats in government medical and dental colleges and units will be allocated based on candidates’ national merit position and preference order. Reserved seats will be filled by eligible candidates from respective categories strictly on merit. College allocation will be determined automatically based on merit ranking and candidate preferences.
Students can check their results through the DGME website (www.dgme.gov.bd) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) website (www.dghs.gov.bd). To view the result, candidates need to visit the DGHS website, click on the “MBBS Result 2025–2026” link, enter their admission test roll number, and click the “Result” button. The merit list will also be published in PDF format on the website.
Earlier, on Saturday afternoon, DGME Director General Professor Dr Nazmul Hossain told The Daily Campus that the result preparation was being conducted in coordination with experts from BUET and the University of Dhaka’s Department of Computer Science.
“The process of preparing the medical and dental admission test results is ongoing. A large number of answer scripts are being reviewed. We are hopeful that the results will be published after noon on Sunday,” he said.
The MBBS and BDS admission tests for the 2025–26 academic year were held on Friday (December 12) from 10:00 am to 11:15 am simultaneously at 17 centres and 49 venues across the country.
Director (Medical Education) of DGME, Professor Dr Mohiuddin Matubbar, said that more than 98 percent of candidates were present in the examination.
“Overall, the admission test was conducted smoothly. The attendance rate was 98.22 percent, while the absence rate was 1.78 percent. The results will be published within a short time,” he added.
A total of 13,051 seats are available in government and private medical and dental colleges this year. Among them, 5,100 seats are in government medical colleges and 545 seats in government dental units. Private medical colleges have 6,001 seats, while private dental colleges have 1,405 seats.
