GST 'A' Unit Admission Test Today, 17 Candidates Competing for Each Seat

The ‘A’ unit admission test for the 2024–25 academic year under the General, Science and Technology (GST) cluster of 19 public universities is being held today, Friday, May 9. The examination will take place simultaneously from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 21 centers across the country.


According to official sources, a total of 1,42,714 candidates have applied for the ‘A’ unit, which primarily includes science-based subjects. With only 8,297 seats available, 17 candidates will compete for each seat, highlighting the intense competition for entry into the country's top public universities.


All preparations for conducting the exam in a smooth and peaceful manner have been completed, officials confirmed. The authorities have taken strict measures to ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process.


Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim Akhand, Vice-Chancellor of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) and Convener of the GST Admission Test Committee, appealed to all concerned to actively cooperate in facilitating a smooth and orderly examination process.He urged the members of the central admission committee and the vice-chancellors of the participating universities to work together to facilitate a successful and incident-free examination.


Dr. Akhand also requested that teachers, officials, and staff assigned to examination duties perform their responsibilities with sincerity and commitment. He extended his best wishes to all participating candidates and their families, expressing hope for a safe and smooth experience throughout their examination journey.

Earlier, the admission tests for the ‘B’ and ‘C’ units were held on May 2 and April 25, respectively.
