The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been officially released. The overall pass rate across the nine general education boards, the Madrasah Education Board, and the Technical Education Board stands at 58.83 per cent. Notably, this year's pass rate has experienced a decline of 18.95 percentage points compared to the previous year. A total of 69,097 students achieved the highest grade point average (GPA-5) this year.
In 2024, the aggregate pass rate was 77.78 per cent, and in 2023, it was 78.64 per cent.
Board-Wise Pass Percentage (2025 HSC & Equivalent)
Among the general education boards, the board-wise pass rates are as follows: Dhaka Board (64.62%), Rajshahi Board (59.40%), Cumilla Board (48.86%), Jashore Board (50.20%), Chattogram Board (52.57%), Barishal Board (62.57%), Sylhet Board (51.86%), Dinajpur Board (57.49%), and Mymensingh Board (51.54%).
Furthermore, the Technical Education Board recorded a pass rate of 62.67 per cent, while the Madrasah Education Board achieved a pass rate of 75.61 per cent.
The results were simultaneously published by the respective Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Boards (Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh), the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board on Thursday (October 16) at 10:00 AM.
Participation Statistics and Evaluation Policy for 2025 HSC Exams
According to sources at the Ministry of Education, a total of 1,251,111 students registered for the HSC and equivalent examinations under the eleven education boards nationwide this year. This included 618,015 male students and 633,096 female students. The examinations were conducted across 2,797 centres throughout the country. However, approximately 27,000 candidates did not participate in the examination. The results this year were formulated based on the 'realistic evaluation' policy.
Across the nation, 69,097 students secured GPA-5. In 2024, this number was 145,911. Consequently, there has been a reduction of 76,814 students achieving GPA-5 this year.
Board-Wise Pass GPA-5 (2025 HSC & Equivalent)
The highest number of GPA-5 achievers were from the Dhaka Board, with 26,063 students. Other boards' GPA-5 figures are: Rajshahi Board (10,137), Dinajpur Board (6,260), Chattogram Board (6,097), Jashore Board (5,995), Madrasah Board (4,268), Cumilla Board (2,707), Mymensingh Board (2,684), Barishal Board (1,674), Technical Board (1,610), and Sylhet Board (1,602).
Similar to the SSC examination results published in July, there was no formal ceremony surrounding the publication of this year's HSC results.
Procedure for Viewing HSC Examination Results of the Nine Boards
Students can view their individual results for the HSC examinations conducted under the country's nine general boards by visiting the website www.educationboardresults.gov.bd and providing their roll and registration numbers.
Alternatively, to receive the result via mobile phone, students should navigate to the message option, type: HSC [First three letters of the Board] [Roll Number] 2025, and send the SMS to 16222 (e.g.: HSC Dha 123456 2025).
Procedure for Viewing Alim Examination Results (Madrasah Board)
The results for the 2025 Alim Examination under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board are accessible through both online and SMS methods.
Students can view district and centre-wise results by visiting the official website www.bmeb.gov.bd, clicking on the ‘Online Service-1’ corner, and selecting the ‘Alim Examination 2025’ option.
Furthermore, individual results, requiring roll and registration numbers, can also be obtained from www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
Interested students can pre-register for the result via SMS. They need to type: ALIM MAD [Roll Number] 2025 in the mobile message option and send it to 16222. (e.g.: ALIM MAD 123456 2025). The result will be delivered to the mobile immediately after the official publication if pre-registration is completed.

Procedure for Viewing Results of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board
The results for the 2025 HSC (Vocational) and Alim (Vocational) examinations are available to students through their respective educational institutions and online platforms.
Firstly, by accessing the Bangladesh Technical Education Board's website www.bteb.gov.bd and clicking on the 'Result Corner', institutions can download the Institution-based Result Sheet by entering their institution ID or code.
Secondly, students can download their individual results, including the Grade-based Transcript, by providing their roll and registration numbers on the websites www.bteb.gov.bd or www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
Thirdly, the results can also be accessed via mobile phone SMS. For this, students must type: HSC TEC <Roll Number> 2025 in the message option and send it to 16222.
