Pakistan Plans to Deport Afghan Refugees
Pakistan is planning to deport at least three million Afghan refugees soon and to implement a rapid mass expulsion plan, according to diplomats from the ruling Taliban in Afghanistan.
On Wednesday, the Taliban embassy in Islamabad released this information in a statement. Police operations were ongoing in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, and the neighboring city of Rawalpindi. This operation also includes refugees who are residing legally.
The Afghan diplomatic mission stated that Pakistan has not officially informed the government about its latest refugee deportation plans.
Officials from Pakistan's foreign ministry have confirmed that there is a final plan to expel all Afghan refugees not only from Islamabad and Rawalpindi but from the entire country in the near future.
